FlashFXP | File Transfer Rules dialog

To access this dialog go to Options -> File Transfer Rules

In a new installation of FlashFXP no rules are defined.

The transfer rules allow you to set up conditions based on the destination file size, date, or type of transfer and set a pre-defined action, these actions are Ask, Overwrite, Skip, Resume, Rename.

In this example we have added 5 rules defined to show you the flexibilty of the file transfer rules.

  1. If size is equal and time is equal then skip.

Regardless of the type of transfer if the size and time are equal then the file is automatically skipped.

  2. If transfer is upload then ask.

if the transfer is upload then ask the user what they want to do.

  3. If size is smaller and time is equal then resume.

Regardless of the type of transfer if the size is smaller and the time is equal then we want to resume the file.

  4. If time is older then overwrite.

Regardless of the type of transfer if the time is older then we want to overwrite.

  5. If size is equal and time is newer then skip.

Regardless of the type of transfer if the size is equal and the time is newer than skip the file transfer.

On transfer error

This allows you to control the retry action of FlashFXP when a transfer failure occurs.

If no rules match then

This allows you to setup a generic action that is performed when none of the following rules are matched.

Advanced Settings and Preserve File Date

Typically these options can be left as-is, for more information please refer to the FlashFXP help file.
