Angry WinXP SP2 BUG

SP2 is blocking the ioFTPD software from listening correct on the
listening port, so far I tested everything. I used to have XP and
ioFTPD + XP SP1 Statefull FW. all worked for a year or so, now
suddently with update it f-u-c-k-e-d it self.

Killing the FW is a solution temporary, but the Statefull packet
service is very fast and reliable so I want to be able to use it. Now
I'm using MDK10.1 proftpd temporarly...

My setup were ioFTPD winXP SP1 = worked perfectly

Went to ioFTPD winXP SP2 = software lo longer listen on ports

I know it is XPs fault, but all they say is that it is software fault....
Bullshit ofcourse.

G6 ftp pro works with same setup, so what ioFTPd needs should be
some type of modification. I tested to make holes in the FW by
opening ports, adding rights to soft, creating exeption rules.. all
failed.

ioFTPd were the ony FTP soft that could reach the limits I wanted for
it, right now I'm using Linux to be able to run an reliable FTP.

But I know a few who do like the ioFTPd and who will need help with
this problem.

Oh and I can connect to localhost and so, the fault is inside the filter of
the FW, been working on a method for this, so I found out that
several new FW is having same problem, ZA Norton and outpost have
similar problems as XP-SP2

So the error is in method of the FW it self.....
But if G6 can work then so must the ioFTPd be able to assimilate this
method. Or if we could get this error out in the open to ask for a patch
in SP2/fix.

Thread moderated.
The Event 4226 has nothing to do with this.

Windows XP SP2 is used on many PC with ioFTPD installed, and is working perfectly. There is no SP2 vs ioFTPD bug.

If you can connect locally, it means ports are listening.
If you can't connect from outside, check your firewall log (sp2 firewall got a very good log that will tell u when connections are blocked, provided that u enabled the log option in the fw options) and read the kb.
