Nice To See It Back, A Few Points :)
Firstly, its nice to see the site back, after what turned out to be a long ass 3 days
It looks all sparkly, but seems cluttered
There seems to be a few missing bits and bobs, most importantly, i couldnt seem to find
the info relating to the scripters pool, and the license information doesnt state what exactly
the extra foundation charge is for, is this still gonna be donated to scripters?
It also seems that some moderators including myself no longer have global moderating powers, i do hope this is a temporary oversight
Lastly, i personally have no backups of my io scripts, there where quite a few, didnt anyone keep backups from the original site?

Thanks for your input. The scripters pool is being working on, and we hope to have that finished by next week, after which we will do a distribution. We'll add some info about the foundation charge, and where it goes.
I'll look into the moderation stuff.
Yes, we have backups of all scripts..they just need to be manually input into the new database in order to work correctly. Just let me know what you need and I can get it to you.

Is it worth the effort to re-upload all current scripts, as in: "Will they still work with the new ioFTPD v1.0" ?

well, the nice thing about the new script system is that a single script can have multiple files. So you could have an unregistered version, a version for foundation members, and an ioftpd 1.0+ version. This way you put the script in once, and just modify the files. Not much work, and at least if you upload your current scripts, they will be available to everyone who is slow to adopt the new version.

Answer is unfortunately no. Too much has changed since the last version. Two interesting features are client storage and user & group storages, where scripts and modules may cache/store arbitary data.

I did not even know it went down so i was sort of shocked in a good way to finaly see development on ioftpd again.
I just wonder will the say license excist because ioftpd always was lifetime license or will this stuff change ?
ooh yeah could someone fix my permission I can't post in the registered user forum.
Also will there be a forum for the older versions and scripts ?
because right now there are about no scripts and when you would need one you can't get it like ioZS for 5+r
I was btw also a foundation member I read something in this thread about additional costs ?
thanks in advance for your reply.
And great work on the new site

I've been out of the ioftpd circle for some time it seems but I still use it. It's nice to see the new website/forums now (looks really nice btw) and I notice darkone is back also, ioFTPD development will really benefit from his continued input I think. I noticed the front page said "ioFTPD v1.0 Final nears completion" and wondered if there was an eta for when it will be released, and if there was beta/test versions for registered/foundation members to tinker with until then? I tried going to the customer portal but I didn't see any ioftpd files at all. Really wanted to get my hands on it and see how it's working now as well as check out what the Lua is all about. :P Well congrats on the progress so far io team, looking forward to seeing some things to download soon.

PopWeasel, it looks like your forum/portal accounts weren't correctly merged. can you please send your old portal login/email so I can merge your accounts?

There will be as many public betas as needed (in order to get it stable) before the final version. However feature set for 1.0 has been (finally, such thing has never happened before in history of ioFTPD) frozen, and focus is now on finalizing the product.
I earlier mentioned that 1.0 will reuse some of the old code base. This statement is no longer valid. We came to conclusion that the old code is not on-par with the new code in terms of clarity and quality. Those interested to see what kind of changes I mean, can take a peek at: new and old. There was no actual need (performance/stability issues) to rewrite this part (or many other parts), but it had to be done for sake of clarity (or does someone actually think that old code is easy to debug? )
