Default Parallel Transfers

When transfering many small files there is significant lag due to the inefficiency in the FTP protocol. It would be very useful to setup something like Parallel Transfers when there are multiple files (set a default threshold at like 35 files). I now usually do it manyally by opening another session to the same FTP account and send/receive half the files via session 1 and the other half via session 2 (because I have a limit to my bandwith, I often do not get twice the throughput, but I am sending/receiving files more continuesly - eg: there is no wait between files, as most often the wait does not coincide with the second session).

Any reason why this is not a good idea? I believe it would be easy enough to implement.

This is a very good point and is something we're considering for the re-write.

BTW have you had a chance to try the latest beta of FlashFXP? This scenario has been greatly improved, small files will send much faster.

I'm currently using 3.0.2 (I hardly ever have significant enough of an insentive to work with beta versions of software).

It is great you will be using the idea in a next version - the idea of course already exists in many other types of software and (I now see) also for FTP, see Google: +FTP "Parallel Transfer"

Anyway, it is great the FlashFXP has been my choice for the past many years and is still the right choice :-)
