Question Binding (custom) commands to buttons

Hi

I think it'd be great if ppl could create custom buttons mapping custom/standard commands. I'm thinking about some very basic UI scripting functions or opening few API methods, I don't know if it'd be doable.

For example something like write a custom command, select a button from a predefined library (or have ability to make one with custom label/icon), pull the button onto status bar or system bar or smth like custom bar. Whenever you click the button, it executes the command.

I know there are kb shortcuts, but ffxp is also good because of it's UI, so it's a bit sad to see a 'frozen' UI :-( I believe opening ffxp user interface would be the nicest feature ever.
