Exclamation One MAJOR (i think) prob. with Flashfxp

Ok, ill try to explain it as i can

I'm traing to fxp server-to-server transfer. Everything works fine (the file starts to transfer @ 60kb/s) but ...

Yeah, Flash fxp seems not to finish all the files to the last byte!
I mean, say my file is 1500000 bytes (exacly 15000000) i try to fxp it.. and it ends up with a filesize of say 14.99750 bytes.

Why? This happens to say.. about each 3 file goes wrong, and has a CRC error. The worst is i cant resume it for some reason!

And FLASH fxp claims that the file was transfered correctly (1500000 bytes), and also if i try to resume it it say Resume complete but the filesize did not change!

This is realy irratating..

Hope someone helps me. Thanks in advance.

What's the kind of FTP server you are sending to?

Ie: glftpd, proftpd, Raiden, G6, Serv-U, etc..

More than likely the ftp server is to blame. FXP transfers are handled directly by each ftp server, FlashFXP tells the servers what to do and it waits for the servers to transfer the file. this is also why there is no progress indicator.

does this happen with all ftps? or just these 2? cause i've known two sites to have a bad connection and one of the files gets corrupted during the send, ie data gets lost. Or, the files on one side are bad due to bad sectors on the disk but are still reported to be correct.

Hey!

I just figured it out !
And... there MUST be some kinda bug in flash fxp that causes incomplete files.

I changed to IglooFTP PRO (also with fxp support) and the files arrive *No problemo*!
I didn't change anything within the servers.

After IglooFTP transferd all files 100% CRC error free i tried again Flash fxp... and.. the files were corrupted.
Im using the newest version of Flash.

I hope someone will have a look at this prob.
bigstar, something MUST be wrong

Kerin:
Are you behind some sort of NAT or Router? I know I've expierenced this problem on certain picky sites while using alternate fxp method.

It is possible that there is a problem with FXP.

I don't have the resources to test FXP under every possible client/server configuration. At the moment the only FXPing I am able to do is locally with serv-u & Raidenftpd.

In the past FlashFXP users have provided me with test servers, however this is no longer the case and I don't have any means of testing FXP in a real life situation.

Is it possible to capture a status log with Igloo FTP? It would be interesting to compare FlashFXP to Igloo FTP, perhaps they are doing something different. You can email me the log directly at support@flashfxp.com Thanks
