Start the new version of FlashFXP, From the Sites menu select Import FlashFXP Sites, Select your old sites.dat and FlashFXP will import your sites. The importer will import from all previous versions of FlashFXP.

I think I wasn't really clear on my problem: I have a new pc with xp on it and my old still runs win98se, they're not connacted in any way so I just want to know what file(s) I have to grab from my old pc without screwing things up

easiest would be to just copy whole ffxp dir.
if you want minimum, copy flashfxp.ini
