Default Flash FXP disconnects after every transfer

Flash FXP 2.1 build 924 running on WinXP. No Firewall. xDSL internet. ident server.

I have two problems.

1. The speed often drops from my maximum speed 55kbps down to 20 or even zero. It the regains maximum speed again. This without any other activity on my internet connection. It never happens when I am dl in Internet Explorer. It is not a site problem, as it is a 100mb site.

2.
After each file that is dl to my computer, the connection is lost and flash fxp waits 120sec to reconnect, which works fine. This did not happen before, I believe it started after I upgraded to v2.1.

Very grateful for any ideas.

1. I'm not sure why this would occur other than normal internet delays. Is this behavior constant? does it occur with all ftp sites?

2. Can you please confirm that the connection lost did not occur in previous versions? does this occur with all ftp sites?

Have you changed any computer hardware? (router?)

same for me, but im 99% sure is the router, so its just something u gotta get used too i think. i use noop during transfer, which helps heaps, but i still get disconnnections, a connection can last a couple of hours though, but still very annoying when u are using a busy site
