Listing Directory
I am trying to learn about servers and ftp programs. I have 2 computers. One running Win2k and the other WinXP. I installed FlashFXP on each machine (same version and build). On the Win2k computer, I have no problem logging on to sites but on the WinXP computer, it hangs and never shows the files. At the bottom of FlashFXP, it says "Listing Directory". It will never go any further and eventually, I will receive a disconnect.
I am testing each computer to the same server site and I have checked within the Preferences of the FlashFXP program and they are both identical. And NO, I am not attempting to log on to the same server site at the same time.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks much

best i can tell you is either disable winxp's firewall or enable PASV mode in flashfxp

Sorry about that........was not aware but here goes.......
The info below is the same for both computers. Only difference is one computer is Win2k and the other is WinXP
FlashFXP v2.1 build 922 Trial
One computer is Win2k the other WinXP and these 2 computers are networked.
Router - Netgear BEFW11S4
No Firewall
Both computers Norton 2003 Antivirus
Cable connection
Also, the firewall in WinXP is not enabled and passive mode is activated on both computers. As I mentioned before, both computer settings within the "preferences" of FlashFXP are identical.
Hope I got it all this time.
Thanks much

I am not sure what you mean by "status log" and they are networked directly into the router (each with its own nick card).
Please let me know what you mean by the "status log" and I will post that.
Thanks much for the help

hmm, it doesn't make sense that the win2k machine does work and the xp doesn't....is the server you are connecting to also behind NAT? you might try active mode on your end as long as you map an ip range from your router and set FlashFXP to use your external ip. If you need help doing this, let me know.
