this is an error message from ftp server. if you need to use PASV mode you need to contact server admin and let them know.

then you need to disable passive mode via the site manager > options tab.

I too have the same problem.

I used FlashFXP a while back, when I first got my Xbox, and thought very highly of it until my eval ran out. Recently, I've started to get back into it, and will probably purchase FlashFXP to compliment my Xbox, but I'm having no joy at all. (This is with the latest build as well)

I have tried several times, with differing sizes/types of files. It either fails, or creates a file of 0 bytes on the drive.

I turned off the passive functions as you mentioned above, and got no joy. I then scoured the rest of the preferences for the mention of pasv/passive, and tried combinations with those as well.

I remember being a little fussy when I last used it, as it successfully transferred some files, but refused to transfer others. Now its giving me the finger completely, and I'm not sure what to do. Quite a few Xbox sites recommended this program, but I've seen no specialist setup instructions.

Any help would be great

Many thanks

The only thing i can think of is, did you define an ip in "bind sockets to this address" located in the Preferences / Proxy Tab?

If you bind this to an external ip you may encounter problems with local file transfers.

If you think it might of been an option you changed you can delete the flashfxp.ini in your FlashFXP folder or "\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\FlashFXP\" to reset FlashFXP to default.

Nope, no joy. I tried connecting on another machine, using another network card. Same problem, I can connect and browse, but not transfer files.

Can you download? Perhaps there's some sort of problem with the xbox ftp that's preventing uploading.

Yes I can download fine.

When I first started using FlashFXP, I could transfer files to the Xbox quite easily (About 3 gigs worth). It would however drop files every now and then.

Looking on an Xbox forum, it seems many other people have had the same problem. Some solved it by changing to binary, or shortening the file name of the file being sent.

Some others are in the same boat as me. Its rather confusing.
