Angry After search for a solution, nothing. Passive and ASCII login problems

Welp, I am trying to connect to a ftp, that my friends have no problem getting on. I have a t1 that I use along with the rest of my apartment, I do believe we are behind a router though. I can easily log into my website's ftp. I get the following problem:

Passive Mode:
227 Entering Passive Mode (172,16,8,11,15,189)
Data Socket Error: Connection timed out

ASCII Mode:
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
426 Data connection closed, transfer aborted.

looks like ftp server is misconfigured.
either you or ftp server will have to configure firewall/router to forward some data connection port range.

Default same problem

I am having the same problems connecting to my own ftp from other locations. it is hosted on raidenftpd and flashfxp is used to connect. the server is hosted behind an smc router, but it is dmz host. other people can connect to the same server, but i even have a friend on modem who is not behind a router who gets the data socket error. if anyone has any server setting, router settings or flashfxp setting suggestions, they would be much appreciated.

It sounds like a mode problem to me. Have you tried to connect to that FTP with Port Mode? If not, you should give it a try.

1. Open FlashFXP.
2. Go to Options>Preferences..>Proxy/Firewall/Ident>Proxy Server.
3. Remove the check mark from Use Passive Mode.
4. Press OK.

Hope this helps.

P.S. Freak9001,
You should give it a try too.

Freak9001, you should contact RaidenFTPD support..seems like it's your server problem.
