				XP anf FlashFXP

I am getting an error when trying site to site transfers. I have XP Pro and have the ICF enabled.

I know that my ICF is configured incorrectly, but I cant figure out which port to allow in the settings. Does anyone know if there is a default port that I can setup to make sure these transfers go through?

Thanks in advance.

			prefs, "proxy/firewall/ident" tab
limit local ports to...

configure your ICF to forward those ports to your computer.
you can change port range if you want to

nevermind, I just understood what you said, sorry.

I limited it to one port, and added the service descriptor to ICS for that port and it still doesnt work.

site to site transfers will not work in most cases behind ICS, this is a compatiblity issue with ICS and site to site transfers, there is also a similar problem with NAT based routers.

Not intending to snub anyone, but these problems are very varied. I use a Cisco router with NAT and am able to use FXP just fine, so it's very likely that the way the router is using NAT that is at the core of the problem.

Does anyone know what exactly is the problem with FlashFXP and ICS? it looks like FXP uses dynamic ports and ICS doesnt allow you to specify ranges, you can do them 1 at a time.

If you just enable the firewall, it's no wonder you've problems. It needs to be configured properly. Search the site for similar posts.

Fusion, I been searching there is nothing on the site, thats what I have been trying to figure out (IE MY Original post) I obviously need to add a service descriptor for ICF to allow traffic, the problem is hunting it down, becuz it appears to be dynamic. SO I figured asking the developers was the best way to figure it out.

Many ftp-servers use a fixed range of ports for fxp, if the one you have problems with do, try to find the range, then open that range in the firewall. As for not finding any posts regarding this issue here, try better search-terms. They're there (I've answered plenty).
