Default FlashFXP with Hardware Firewall?

Help.
I am using an SMC Barricade hardware firewall, but not sure if that is what is causing this issue.

No matter what ftp site I log into now, I am getting problems.

I can connect, but if I send, receive a file, I get "cannot open data connection"

Also, if I am sending a file to someone, it seems like it is uploading, but I keep getting "NOOP" commands, and when I am done moving the file, it's not on the site, yet from all signs, it looked like it sent (it showed a status bar of the file transfering).

What could be wrong? Do I need to set something different in FLASHFXP?

try to connect using pasv mode.
if that doesn't help, consider reading http://www.dslreports.com/forum/smc
they should know exactly how to configure your router

Are you using the "send noops during transfer" options located in the preferences / proxy tab? enabling this feature can cause transfers to fail or mess up.

To fully understand whats going on a status window might be helpful.
