Default Wont FXP behind router!

Hello there

I can't FXP with Flash FXP, but I can with IglooFTP.....

- So something in your program makes it not possible behind a router. That is too bad, because I like your program better than the other one.

Is there any chance this will be changed in the future?

Cheers

Try the alternate FXP methods, or bind the IP to your external IP. FXP through a router is possible, if done right.

ok

I have tried the alternative method - I think, but I will try it again. To do that I have to go to the advanced tab in the quick connect panel - and then click upload or download, right?

How do I bind the IP to my external IP?

You find both in the Options (F6).
In the proxy/transfer tab you have an unchecked box that will let you supply your external IP, so that the program will use it in liu of whatever internal IP you have assigned to the machine.

Thanks for the tip m8

I still can't get it to work though. Do you know two sites that are "FXPable".

I think ftp.netscape.com is fxpable

Well, offhand I can't give you two to try with, but there's an additional setting you can try. In the same tab-pane where you bind the ip, you can also limit what local ports to use. That could prove useful if your router is setup to limit what ports are accepted.

FXP is fairly standard, if it works with one client it should work with any.

Take a look at the commands in the status window and then compare it to FlashFXP, They should be nearly identical, if they're not you need to adjust some settings.

If you still can't figure it out, feel free to post copies of those logs and we'll try and help you figure it out.
