Default Keep adjustments in "Column-bar"

Hey,

When i log in to a ftpserver i see the column-bar is too wide to fit the remote window. So i scroll horizontal to get the Name, Size and Modified back on the screen, and the horizontal scrollbar disappears. Now everything is how i like it. Now i'm informed that new files have been placed in the directory, so i do a Refresh, but now the column-bar becomes too wide again.

I selected to show: Name, Size and Modified in the column-bar in the remote window.

So i drag the Size column to make the Name column smaller. After doing Refresh the column-bar is reset and i have to drag the Size column again to be able to see Size and Modified.

Does it make sence? :-)

My question is: Why doesn't the remote window keep the settings when i Refresh?

Greetings
J-J

[edit]

It seems like the size of the Name column is made equal to the longest filename in the directory - so i can view all filenames. But when i resize the column-bar myself, shouldn't it keep it like that instead of resizing upon every Refresh?

In the Preferences / Display tab, Did you uncheck "auto size file list columns" ?
