SCP/SFTP Support

FlashFXP is, by far, the best FTP client I've used, and I recommend it to friends all the time. The only feature I'd like to see added is SCP and SFTP functionality. I'm increasingly using more and more secure connections through routers and firewalls, which don't support FTP+SSL very well, but SSH works. You can probably just use the source for PuTTY like most other SCP clients out there do (PuTTY is pretty solid). That would make FlashFXP the only file transfer app I need (along with a lot of my friends...who regularly swear at other SCP clients). Woohoo!

These 2 protocols are really different and actually have nothing to do with FTP. Since FlashFXP is purely a FTP client this will not be supported anytime soon.

that's not going to work becuase putty is written in C, while flashfxp is in Delphi. plus putty is open source, including it's code in flashfxp would violate it's license.

WinSCP 3.6.1 is purely SCP....( freeware )

Aweome, thats good to know, thanks. Does this "re-write" have an ETA, like next year or something? I'm just curious.

I know about WinSCP, that is what we primarily use, but it isn't nearly as stable or polished as FlashFXP. Also, PuTTY is open source but doesn't use the GPL, so you can include it and distribute your program without violating the license. IANAL but that is how I read their licence, which seems pretty simple. "Open source"/"free software" != GPL, though I understand the confusion (and used to think the same way). Of course this doesn't fix the C/Delphi problem.

If you really want to use flashfxp for sftp you could always
use the built in ftp-to-sftp bridge in mindterm.

Just tried it, and it works nicely for me, instructions here:
