Default Account with no password

I have saved a site in site manager, but the site only consists of a username, no password needed...

now if i try to connect to the site, flashfxp alway opens a new small window and ask for a password...

how to disable these annoying password question? I tried to use " ", "0" and "*" as password, but nothing works...

If the ftp site doesn't require a password then entering anything should be fine, a password is only sent if the ftp server asks for one. ftp accounts without a password shouldn't prompt for one.

oh sorry

I mean, the needed password is NO password... if i fill in a password, the account doesnt work. its not an anonymous account, only an account with NO password.

while you set an non anonymous account with no password, flashfxp alwys ask for an password.

hope, you understand it now.. ;-)

Well in that case I don't see a solution to your problem. If a password isn't set then FlashFXP prompts for one.

There is more to it then just the prompt. A password is required.

What software is this FTP server running?
A login account with no password shouldn't ask the client for one. The problem is caused by the server not the client.

FTP Server is running Microsoft FTP Service (Version 5.0)

And Iam sure, the password requirement is caused by FlashFXP. Because, if I start connecting to the site the password question pop ups, then I klick OK and then FlashFXP connects to the site.

I tried it on many other servers, always the same problem. Try it yourself:

create a site, deactivate anonymous login, fill in a username and leave the password field blank.

I tested this under Win2k Pro IIS FTP 5.0
I created an account without a password in IIS FTP.
In FlashFXP I entered anything for the password and it worked just fine. IIS FTP doesn't validate the password.

If the password is [nothing; therefor just press enter] how can it allow other characters?

in my case the IIS Server validate the password for the IIS User Account. The only accepted password is no password.

I only wanted to know, if there is a way to disable flashfxp password question if I enter an account, with no password, which is not an anonymous account.

I already answered that. No.
It's odd that your IIS User account works differently than mine though.
