FlashFXP crashes when exiting (v2.0 RC3 B876)
Hi Bigstar,
FFXP crashes on me when I close it with the icon, ALT-F4, etc. I'm not getting anything in the debug.log file(!). DrWatson pops up and makes a nice crash dump file instead.
My system is a P4 1.7, 512MB running Windows 2000, SP3, IE6SP1. Can you tell me what I can provide you with for more information (the crash dump perhaps) ?

Is FlashFXP doing anything when you exit it?
I'm not sure if a crash dump from DrWatson would be much use.
Our debug.log is basically an internal error handling system sort of like DrWatson except it provides much more usefull information.
It's interesting that a debug.log is not being created, this normally points the finger at a DLL.

Hi bigstar,
I also encountered the exact same problem after updated to build 876. This problem wasn't there in build 875.
Interesting thing is that not all instances of FlashFXP give this error. I ran FlashFXP in 6 instances, and only 1 or 2 gave this error when I close it.
Oh yeah, the Debug.log contains no information about the crashes.
My system is Athlon XP 1700+, 512MB running Windows 2000 SP3, IE6.

Hmmm.
Ok lets see that DrWatson dump log.. Right now it looks like our best bet. I looked over the source code changes and the only possible problem would be with the HTML help. Though that would seem unlikely.
I also use win2k SP3 & IE6 SP1

Okay, how do you want me to send it? I do not feel like providing a crash dump for the world to see Interestingly enough, I had a similar problem SecureCRT a while back; after some exchanging of mails and the dumpfile, they found out the bug was caused by a timing issue where the connection was being closed but data was still being sent to it. Perhaps this is related?

I never liked DrWatson, programs started crashing more often when I installed it.

aCe2k: Dr. Watson is a program that generates core dumps when programs crash, which is very useful to developers and programmers. ND-: Dr. Watson comes -standard- with Windows these days.
BigStar, comments/thoughts on my previous post?

With which version of windows?
I've not seen anything similar to Dr. Watson (if it's the same program I'm thinking off), but then again, programs rarley crash for me (win2k).

send it to support@flashfxp.com, What exactly is FlashFXP doing when you exit? If connected is it a SSL/TLS connection?

Application Error on Close
Not sure if this was a problem with FlashFXP or an issue with my OS.
I'm running Windows 2000 SP2 on a 667 with 512MB pc133. My FlashFXP version is 2.0 RC3 (b876) and I am a registered user.
I had this error after I downloaded several files off an FTP then closed flash. Any Ideas ???

Hmm, i think the problem is IE6 SP1.
After i installed it, the error with Alt+F4 was in more programms, not only FlashFXP.
Found some more courious things like a 22mb big Windows Messanger in Taskmanager .... ( i never used it, so why 22mb )
Okay
Good luck

Same here, crashes when closing build 876 - 875 was fine and every previous version of FlashFXP has been fine.
Running WinXP SP1.
