All Transfers to all servers hanging

			FlashFXP 3.0.2 (build 1045)
Hanging at 16kb forever for files larger than 16kb and hanging at 100% for smaller files - all of them overwrite the current file with 0kb file - this must be a bug I have tried it on different servers on different networks with different files ALL with the same results - basically transfers are not working now, worked fine up until today.

			Are you uploading or downloading?
If you're uploading your MTU might be set too big.
http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/M/MTU.html
I have the following setup

XP PC > Router > DSL modem

If I don't set the MTU on my Router to the max supported by my DSL connection I have the same problem.

I have been using the same MTU settings with my router since I installed it 9 months ago fine. This problem just occurred yesterday, could be a Windows hotfix that ran yesterday?

may well be the problem!! I am not used to tinkering with this sort of stuff but think I probably should have a go - any advice from FlashFXP support? Is this the problem?

MSKB890345 is related to Win2k, you are running xp..it doesn't apply to you.
i think we need to see status log with those hanging trasnfers.

have you tried to temporary remove router from your setup and trasnfer?

hi tennisball can you confirm it is the same hotfix? 893066 is the id on my latest windows patches.
this would appear then to be a much wider issue than just me - our symptoms are identical, hanging at 16k so I would hazard a guess that this will happen to all users patching this hotfix.

again here is the hotfix info http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=893066 - I am guessing the problem is similar to that described on the ms site relating to W2000 but would like FlashFXP support to confirm before I go meddling with regedit.

I am running windows xp sp2, all i did was a windows update, it found 6 updates available. This is the only thing i can think causing it, it was working fine before. Wonder what microsoft removed this time.

I have uninstalled the windows hotfix 893066 and FlashFXP works fine now - I would recommend doing this until FlashFXP support can identify the fix (or Microsoft make a better fix, maybe this affects other network tools?) even though this apparently makes your PC unsafe from hackers!

Alimax, check this webpage. Applies to Windows 2000, but who knows ...

The article talks about 'Security update 893066 returns the default size of the TCP receive window in Windows 2000 to the pre-SP3 default size of 17,520 bytes', and it says: After you apply security update 893066, you may notice that the performance of the network decreases. For example, the throughput may be one-fourth of the throughput that you experienced before you applied the security update .

*******

Edit: Ouch, i didn't notice that you've already checked that page .
