Now that's what I call 'buggy'. I used to use the former version of FlashFXP for years without any problems and now look at my first two days with version 3:

(and again I cut it here. you can only guess how many errors the program presented to me...)
At the moment, FlashFXP is the only application on my PC that causes errors. For now, I uninstalled everything cleaned all left behind files up and installed the program once again.

The error only occured, when I tried to edit a file with an external program (right click on a file on a remote ftp and a click on 'edit').

What is the file extension of the file your trying to edit?

Which program do you have assigned to open that type of file?

Did you manually configure a file association to edit the file or is FlashFXP trying to use the system file association default?

Okay, hereby I provide the information to you. If you need any additional information, please let me know.

In the attached archive I provided two files:

1. hijackthis-log showing all the information about the running software on my computer and

2. the system summary information regarding hardware provided by SiSoft Sandra

I will send you the archive's password via personal message.

FlashFXP is always using the system file association default. I did not change any association.

Thank you for your quick response, I have a few more questions.

Is the file downloaded even though the error occurs?

Is the file opened and displayed in the assigned edior?

After editing the file is the upload successful?

Also have you tried rebooting your computer?

Looking in the ftp session status window can you please copy the text so I can see exactly where the error occurs (the commands before and directly after the error message.

Thank you

No, when the error occured, FlashFXP aborted the operation and the ftp session window showed the error message in red.

No, the operation was cancelled completely by FlashFXP.

No download = no upload.

As the error occured within two days, my computer was shut down over the two nights between them. After the error occured, I closed FlashFXP and restarted it again. The error seemed to occur after a very long period of time working on the remote ftp. When one error occured, further errors made working fluently impossible, so I tried to fix the problem by restarting FlashFXP which seems to be a temporary solution.

Is it possible to access old ftp session logs? As it took hours to make FlashFXP produce these errors, it is quite unhandy for me to reproduce FlashFXP failures.

There is an option to enable disk based logging, however it's turned off by default.

I tried to continue my work but the error occured again. It must have something to do with the internal viewer. Everytime I use the search-function in the internal viewer for the second time, I get an internal error when closing the search window.

As there should also be positive replies I am glad to announce that my problem seems to be solved. The very patient bigstar traced my problem back to the windows classic scheme I use in Windows XP.

Thank you again!
