ident doesn't work on first try
Hi
I am having the problem that I can't connect to an FTP Server that requires ident on the first try. On the second try it works without problems.
* FlashFXP v3.0, build 1015, registered
* OS WinXP
* Running behind NAT/router: Yes & Model: WBR-3404TX
* Running firewall: No
* Running Antivirus: No
* Network: CABLE
I don't have this problem with any other ftp programs.

Are you using the built in Ident Server?
If your using other applications with an Ident Server it may conflict with FlashFXP.

Yes, I am using the built in Ident server, and don't have any other applications which should be conflicting with port 113
And, like I said, on the second try it always works...

Do you happen to know which ftp server software is being used?

glFTPD as far as I know.
If it makes a difference, I also have Auth TLS activated.

Try using AuthSSL instead.

Unfortunately, using AuthSSL doesn't make a difference.

Using a different authentication method wouldn't affect an ident lookup, since it's a totally different service.
You should try using a different identd and see if that solves the problem, I would recommend this one, since it can run as a service on Windows2K/XP and is controlled from the control panel.

Thanks, but I don't really have a problem with clicking connect twice.
I just wanted to report it as a bug, so that the software could be as bugfree as possible.

Yes, and that's why you should also try it using an identd which isn't built into FlashFXP.
If the problem persists with a new identd, then we know that the problem isn't FlashFXP specific and exists either with some settings on your own computer, or on the server that is making the ident requests.
In which case, we just saved bigstar sometime and he can continue working on other features.

I did try it using another ident.
Or at least I tried this with a different ftp program and didn't have any problems at all.
I'm pretty sure this is Flashfxp specific.

So far I haven't been able to come up with an explanation to this problem.
Even though it fails does FlashFXP show the ident reply in the status window?
Do you have FlashFXP configured to use per-site ident replies?
Can you please list your exact FlashFXP ident settings
