Server won't list directory

I am using 3.0.2 (build 1045) -- Registered
WinXP Sp2
Firewall - Sygate 5.5.2637
no antivirus
Cable connection internet

When I connect to a server this is what I see -

CLNT FlashFXP 3.0.1045
[R] 200 Noted.
[R] PWD
[R] 257 "/" is current directory.
[R] TYPE A
[R] 200 Type set to A.
[R] PORT xxxxxxxxxxxxx
[R] 200 PORT Command successful.
[R] LIST -al
[R] 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
[R] 226 Transfer complete.
[R] List Complete: 0 bytes in 1.91 seconds (0.0 KB/s)

and then nothing is displayed

I sent the login info to a friend running the same version and this is what he gets --

CLNT FlashFXP 3.0.1045
[R] 200 Noted.

[R] 257 "/" is current directory.
[R] List (cached)
[R] List Complete: 1 KB in 0.75 seconds (1.6 KB/s)

once his goes to 257 - the directories are listed and they are displayed -
on mine - after the 257 - nothing gets listed and nothing shows

ANY IDEAS???
