Default download speed terrible...

hello support,

glad to see the forum is back cause today it was gone for hours..
but the site was online....
also calling the u.s ....and talking to "andrew" wasnt a success either....he just hangs up.
so thats very nice....
Any way....my problem is this....
im using the standard configuration on install and for some weird reason flashfxp has a very low downloadspeed.
it doesnt matter if i try it from a server in the u.s or in the netherlands.
more weird things are....that the speed is never stable.it flies from for example 2.5kbps to 50kbps and everything in between.

ive contacted my isp to rule out that its my connection somehow but all is fine.

i have broadband cable and our upload speed is set to 120kbps and the downloadspeed should be like 4 times more ...

Can someone help on this?

John

well i tried the test and after it download or upload it says ok press results button but then it goes dead and nothing happends...
And yes...like i wrote ...its on all servers the same...
The flash fxp is bought not long after i installed a new drive,so it was a very clean computer as well..
And is re-installing needed?
isnt it clever enough with a type of "back to default settings " button?

so seems im the only poster here...
i did the tweak stuff so that came out good.
but Flashfxp still has a performance off o,o
i bought it because i always edit online...and looks good to me.
But for downloading stuff its a disaster.
There were more complaints about flashfxp that i heard but never knew any reasons.

So whats the next excuse for this poor performance of my Flashfxp ?

do not expect to get a reply the same minute you post a message.
it's common courtesy to wait AT LEAST 24hours for a reply

no you don't.
optimizing your tcp/ip settings is an optional. it improve performance in ALL your internet applications.
if you don't want to do it, and you are satisfied with your current config, nobody is forcing you.

next?
excuse?
show me a single excuse in this thread.
if you want to get help from us, we need to know variables of your situation to find out what's going on.
you how haven't shown us hard numbers from downloads using flashfxp and that other ftp client.
are you connecting using PASV mode or PORT?

With excuse i mean.....

i said another ftp client works perfectly ,and i think its weird that you dont pay any attention to that fact.

And instead you come with a link to check my RWIN.
The fact that the other client works perfectly should ring a bell....dont you agree?

Why is the other ftp client downloading with high speed ?
Again...(at time of this posting for me it 12:31...so busy internet time) and i downloaded a 4.2mb package AGAIN from my website at 456kbps !

So is it so hard to accept that flashfxp is the problem ?
And not me or my computer....
if that was so the other client should perform JUST AS BAD.

so please come with some ideas or perhaps the solution...

Can you please show me a copy of your ftp session text.

Are you using PASV or PORT mode?

Try turning off passive mode. Options > Preferences > Connection Tab > Use Passive Mode

Right-click on the ftp session status window and select copy to clipboard.

At the moment we're not sure why some users get faster speeds with passive mode turned off. This problem is currently being investigated.

In your other ftp client can you please check and see if passive mode is enabled. If it is disabled can you please enable it and test passive mode, I am very interested in knowing your results.
