This can sometimes occur if your firewall isn't properly configured to allow FlashFXP access.

Disabling your firewall isn't the solution because in most cases even though it's disabled it will continue to block previously blocked applications.

that message means ffxp(or your computer) couldn't convert "sunsite.unc.edu" into ip address...which means it's a dns problem.
to find out if it's a problem with flashfxp itself or elsewhere, open command prompt and type
nslookup sunsite.unc.edu
the output should look something like this
Code:
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: sunsite.unc.edu
Address: 152.2.210.81
if you get some type of error that means something could be wrong with your ISP's dns servers.

as for this error..i'm not sure...it could be your firewall problem..also consider scanning your system for spyware, some of it can replace normal winsock file with their own modified/broken version.

Default ...

oh guyz!

The FW is the McAfee Personal Firewall Plus V6.0.6014

unistalling FW doesn't seems a good idea...
so... i've tried again ftp from doswindow and it works fine
connecting to sunsite in a while...

"Microsoft(R) Windows 98
(C)Copyright Microsoft Corp 1981-1999.

C:\WINDOWS\Desktop>ftp sunsite.unc.edu
Connesso a sunsite.unc.edu.
220 ProFTPD Server (Bring it on...)
Utente (sunsite.unc.edunone)): anonymous
331 Anonymous login ok, send your complete email address as your password.

hope you find what you're looking for.

If you have any problems or questions, please send email to

ftpkeeper@ibiblio.org

Thanks!

230 Anonymous access granted, restrictions apply.
ftp>"
as you can see...

so it's not a firewall problem that's bloking my ftp port...
NSLOOKUP doesn't exist on W98 it's on NT,W2000, WXP...

please i need a more technical help could you? so if i must
give any info on the system, ask me!

Don't know if it'll help;according to Google:

WSAEINVAL (10022)

Invalid argument.

Some invalid argument was supplied (for example, specifying an invalid level to the setsockopt function). In some instances, it also refers to the current state of the socket - for instance, calling accept on a socket that is not listening.
