Default Saving remotely edited file with notepad

I did a search for this, but not sure if my search terms are using THE correct terminology for my problem.
When remotely editing a .php file (haven't tested on others), using notepad then save and upload the file instantly looses all formatting.. like all whitespace is being stripped out.
This is happening on a VPS linux server. While I also do the same thing on a dreamhost shared hosting server and do not have this issue. Also, I have done this on dedicated linux and haven't had this problem.. strange.

I'm hoping someone could point me to maybe its a setting issue? Or maybe it's an FTP root user while editing issue.. or maybe some setting I need to change on server?

Hello.

There is quite a bit of information you dont provide, like does it happen with every Flashfxp version, what version you using and have you tried when fpr e.g. using notepad++

In either case upgrade to very latest version which of writing is 4.4.1 build 2009 and read https://oss.azurewebsites.net/forum/flashf...e-posting.html and post more of the information suggested by it.

It may very well be obvious to others but without more pertinent info it may be more difficult to provide the right solution.
