Can't see FTP content once successfully logged in (list issue?)
Hi guys,
I don't know much about how FTP works, but recently we moved to liquid web and upgraded to version 4.0.0 (build 1548) and can't seem to see the contents of the server. It logs in fine (as in user name and pass correct), but I never see the actual folders/files.
* FlashFXP v4.0.0, build [1548], [yes]registered, [no]unregistered, [lol,no]pirated
* OS Windows 7
* Running behind hardware router/firewall [x] Yes (but others in the office using Fillzilla can login fine)
* Running software firewall: Yes, Windows Firewall
* Running Antivirus: [x] No (unless windows defender counts, then yes)
* Internet Connection [X] ADSL
Here's the complete log of an attempted login:
[R] Connecting to XXX (liquid web) -> IP=xx.xx.xx.xx PORT=21
[R] Connected to XXX (liquid web)
[R] 220 FTP Server ready.
[R] USER ********
[R] 331 Password required for ********
[R] PASS (hidden)
[R] 230 User ******** logged in

[R] 200 PORT command successful
[R] MLSD
[R] Connection lost: NGR (liquid web)
[R] List Error
I've tried what seems like every combination of options within the site manager but I just can't get the files to list. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Then I can't see anything. It looks empty, but like it's logged in.

Either that server is misconfigured or you have some sort of firewall blocking outgoing connections on arbitrary ports.

Was FileZilla run on the same computer as FlashFXP?
I noticed the local LAN IP shown by FlashFXP vs FileZilla is different.
FlashFXP: 192.168.1.17
FileZilla: 192.168.1.243
If it is the same computer, does the computer have multiple network interfaces?

You are correct - Filezilla is being run on a different machine in the office to mine, but going through the same router/modem. It sounds like there is something in windows firewall that's holding flashfxp back on my machine then? Any suggestions at all?
Many thanks for the assistance guys!

Is it possible that the other machine has the proper incoming ports forwarded on the router and the machine running FlashFXP does not?
The other possibility is windows firewall, sometimes Windows Firewall doesn't work like its supposed to, we've seen many cases where users have to remove the FlashFXP allow rule from windows firewall, reboot, and then re-add FlashFXP to windows firewall.
When adding a rule to windows firewall its important to allow both incoming and outgoing connections.

Excellent - success! The windows firewall needed it removed and added again and now it connects right away and lists via PORT mode. Thanks for the help!
