I'm having this problem too :-(
I can't find any pattern, it seems random, but happen more frequent when connected/transferring files.

* FlashFXP v4.0.0, build 1525, unregistered (trial)
* OS: Windows 7
* Running software firewall: No
* Running Antivirus: Yes (microsoft security essentials 2 - turned off)
* Internet Connection: DSL

You need to download a newer release, this issue wasn't fixed until a newer release then the one you're evaluating now. https://oss.azurewebsites.net/download.php
