Default Retrieving files from remote server onto local server

I mistakenly saved over a template i made in dreamweaver, and the only correct version is the one on my site right now. i used FlashFXP to try and overwrite the file, but when i open it up, it remains the same file I was initially trying to overwrite and correct.

Can you not overwrite files from the server back to your computer, or am i doing something wrong?

You can overwrite files in both directions, provided your user account has the proper file permissions.

Make sure the local file isn't open in dreamweaver or any other program. Sometimes programs like dreamweaver will automatically update the remote file to match the local one, so its possible the version on the server has already been replaced. You might also try downloading the file as a different name and see if that makes any difference.
