Following changes will be made in beta5.6!

Path => SystemPath
Pwd => VirtualPath
RealPath => Path

ioftpd.env (5.4):

ACCSPEED=%.4[speed]

GID=%[$gid]
GROUP=%[$group]
GROUPS=%[group]
IDENT=%[$ident]

why not "never change a running environmental system..."

Btw, if u don't like changes, i strongly suggest u wait until final and don't bother with beta versions. Lots of things change daily on io and it's scripts.
