View Full Version : free problem
I´ve got quite an annoying problem.
At random, but about every 2. or 3. time i do
!df or !free, bot chrashes and spams this:
[13:38] [AlcoBot] Error :: ModFree - unable to retrieve volume information for "D:": The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
[13:38] [AlcoBot] Error :: ModFree - unable to retrieve volume information for "K:": The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
and i tried to change conf.
tried with
d:/ = section
and
d:\ = section
and
d: = section
No difference.. :(
any ideas?

Please try to include useful details when reporting bugs.
- AlcoBot version (you better be using the latest)
- Operating system version
- Information about those particular volumes (D:\ and K:\)
And what version of AlcoExt*.dll is AlcoBot using? (right click -> properties -> version)
Alcobot 1.2.0 (off course.. :p)
Testet on different machines. (winxp and win2k3)
AlcoExt06.dll version 0.6.0.0
what information would u like about the volumes?
ide100/133 hdds (1 sata).. Some raided, some not. But all the comps have more than 4 discs.
This same bug appears on 8 different machines.
Different os, different discs (no scsi or sata, only sata on 1)
Happends at random.. :x
Mostly after bot has been quiet for some time.
No announces or !cmds for some time.
update:
It mostly happens when bot has been idle for some time...
would u like to have a copy of eggdrop.conf?
cause this error appears on 8 machines with same eggy.conf,
but not on my own, which has a different conf...
another annoying bug is
quite often does the bot quit on rehash ?
any eta for next version? :)

Eggdrop can quit on rehash for hundreds of reasons. Without more information, all I can say is that it works fine for me.
I haven't done much work on AlcoBot or nxTools since their last release. I've committed a few minor bug fixes people have reported and nothing else. I don't have time or motivation to work on them at the moment. They're not dead - just on hold.
As for your !free issues...no one else has reported anything similar, nor could I reproduce the crash.
i testet some more..
Could someone try and confirm.
If i do !df, let it spam and do !df again
it also chrashes.. :s

Someone else managed to reproduce this bug recently, I'll post some debugging instructions shortly...
