GWT html file

Hello. I have downloaded a Google Webmaster Tool .html file that needs uploading to my site in order to link with my StatCounter account. The html file is to verify that I am the site's owner. Being new to this, I am not sure which of my folders to upload to.
I hope I have explained my problem clearly.
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
