Incorrect Listing on dirs with LIST and MLSD

FlashFXP Build 3725 Beta

OS. Windows 8.1

In some directories if you list the contents it only displays part of the contents using the commands LIST and MLSD.
(in my case only directories starting from 0 to C, then it stops listing the rest, ej, D to Z)
If you change in site manager to STAT-L listing it will show everything.

Re: Incorrect Listing on dirs with LIST and MLSD

Hello,

Please upgrade to the latest FlashFXP v5.0 build and let me know if you continue to experience this issue.
https://oss.azurewebsites.net/download-beta

I'm fairly confident that this issue has since been resolved.

Re: Incorrect Listing on dirs with LIST and MLSD

No it's not resolved. From a folder of 447 dirs it only shows 74 with auto listing method, LIST and MLSD.

Re: Incorrect Listing on dirs with LIST and MLSD

Are you connecting to the server via a proxy server?

Are you using plain FTP or FTP/SSL?

Are you using PORT or PASV mode?

Is it possible to give me access to the server for testing purposes?

And one final question, have you tried another ftp client to confirm the problem is FlashFXP and not with the server?

No

Explicit SSL (Auth TLS)

Are you using PORT or PASV mode?

PASV

Is it possible to give me access to the server for testing purposes?

I'm sorry but I'm afraid no

And one final question, have you tried another ftp client to confirm the problem is FlashFXP and not with the server?

Yes, I tried with FTP RUSH and it lists correctly

Here are two captures of the different listing in the same folder.

Re: Incorrect Listing on dirs with LIST and MLSD

Do you happen to know the software/version of the FTP server?

I've tested this every possible way I can think of and I can't get it to end up incomplete.

I am quite stumped

Maybe there is a conflict with something else on your computer, perhaps a firewall or content filter?

Re: Incorrect Listing on dirs with LIST and MLSD

Hi.

The server which I'm having this issue is vsFTPd v3.0.2

I've tested this in other networks different than mine, and is happening the same, only 74 folders, so it's not a firewall or problems with my system. (I don't have any firewall running).

Thanks for the replies.

Re: Incorrect Listing on dirs with LIST and MLSD

Is it just this one folder or are there other folders on the server also having this problem?

If you haven't tested other large folders can you please test them.

I just finished an extensive review of all procedures and functions involved in handling LIST/MLSD/STAT-l as well as the data socket and I have come up empty.

Can you turn on time stamping in the session status window (right-click and from the popup menu check timestamp if not already checked) and then list the problematic folder and provide me with the following lines

[16:54:32] [R] LIST -al
[16:54:32] [R] 150 Here comes the directory listing.
[16:54:32] [R] 226 Directory send OK.
[16:54:32] [R] List Complete: 104 KB in 0.86 seconds (104.3 KB/s)

Another thing you can check is from the main menu > Directory > View raw directory.. See if the raw directory listing is also truncated.

One final thing to check might be to run wireshark and examine the tcp stream to see if the server is sending the complete listing over the data socket, maybe there's some weird network/packet loss error that we're we're not seeing or being notified about.

Re: Incorrect Listing on dirs with LIST and MLSD

I tested on the same server with larger folders and it lists correctly. It looks like is this only dir where is happening, maybe an unsupported character or something similar?

Anyway I paste the status.

AUTO LISTING

[00:04:41] [R] CWD movies
[00:04:41] [R] 250 CWD command successful.
[00:04:41] [R] PWD
[00:04:41] [R] 257 "/incoming/movies" is current directory.
[00:04:41] [R] PASV
[00:04:41] [R] 227 Entering Passive Mode (***********)
[00:04:41] [R] Opening data connection IP: ********* PORT: 55842
[00:04:41] [R] LIST
[00:04:41] [R] 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for directory listing using SSL/TLS.
[00:04:41] [R] TLSv1 negotiation successful...
[00:04:41] [R] TLSv1 encrypted session using cipher DHE-DSS-AES256-SHA (256 bits)
[00:04:41] [R] List Complete: 7 KB in 0,47 seconds (7,8 KB/s)

STAT-L LISTING

[00:13:00] [R] CWD movies
[00:13:01] [R] 250 CWD command successful.
[00:13:01] [R] PWD
[00:13:01] [R] 257 "/incoming/movies" is current directory.
[00:13:01] [R] STAT -l
[00:13:01] [R] List Complete: 47 KB in 0,29 seconds (47,7 KB/s)

See the difference in KB?

also, I made a raw dir listing and it just shows the same 74 folders (incomplete).

If it's only happening to me and in this server/folder and nowhere else, just forget it

Greetings.
