download status not show on taskbar entry

FlashFXP v3.4.1 build 1160

Basically I have made a fresh install of Vista Ultimate, copied across a backup of my flashfxp directory, re-entered my serial code and flash works perfectly apart from on the taskbar, it doesn't current download speed or anything except "FlashFXP".

Is this down to not running the installer or would that make no difference?

In order to provide support for the taskbar preview window pane in Windows Vista some structural changes were made to the window heritage. Originally the taskbar button and the main FlashFXP window were two separate entities. Now they are one and the same. Due to this change the text shown on the main window caption appears on the taskbar button and not the transfer status text.

At this point in time we have two options.

1. Display the transfer status on the main window caption. However people who use the "show site names is caption" feature will lose this ability during transfer.

2. Drop this as a feature on the taskbar button (however it will still work when minimized to the system tray)

Having it available as an option would seem to be a fair compromise, as it is of huge benefit to myself to see current speed at a glance without having to interact with my computer to find out.

This issue is still pending... We're trying to find the best solution.

Having the transfer status on the main window caption (which is needed for the taskbar button tooltip) causes a high amount of annoying flicker.

how about displaying transfer status in sidebar gadget?

did you configure taskbar caption settings? and if so, what are they?

I didn't change default settings (it's just what i need)

In build 1163 this issue effected all OS's and not just vista. In build 1164 which was just released to beta testers only vista is effected by this problem.

same settings as "Thundik81"

1160 working on w2k3 sp2
1162 affected w2k3 sp2 by this problem

cant say anything about >build's bcoz i cant reach them...

A solution to this was added in build 1168, one that works for all OS's..

The vista solution is pending user feedback.
