Filename including a period (.) character followed by a space ( ) character doesn't show up correctly once uploaded.

This BUG has been confirmed under the following OS's:

OS: Windows 7 Professional
OS: Windows XP Professional

This BUG has been confirmed under the following versions of FlashFXP:

Version: 3.6.0 (build 1240)
Version: 4.1.8 (build 1701)

FlashFXP does not show files correctly when the filename includes a PERIOD character somewhere in the filename followed by a SPACE character in the filename. The SPACE character does not have to occur directly following the PERIOD character.

It apears that once FlashFXP see's the PERIOD character it doesn't include any of the characters ahead of the SPACE character in the filename. I think this confusion on FlashFXP also causes it to not display the FILESIZE of the uploaded files correctly.

I uploaded the following listing of files to a site. Here is what the files look like on the 'Source' end. Pay special attention to the names of the files and note they have period (.) characters in the filename with a space at some point after the period.

SOURCE FILES (CORRECT)

This is what FlashFXP shows after the above list gets uploaded.

DESTINATION FILES (INCORRECT)

Note: The SOURCE FILES do get uploaded correctly. The file sizes are correct. The filenames are correct. If i connect remotely to the server where i uploaded the files you can see they are correct. However FlashFXP doesn't see them correctly so you can't download them from FlashFXP.

I also tried several different FXP software and they all work as expected. Only FlashFXP exhibits this problem.

Re: Filename including a period (.) character followed by a space ( ) character doesn't show up correctly once uploaded.

Hello,

Thank you for reporting this issue.

It appears that FlashFXP is having some trouble parsing the directory list format.

Can you please provide a copy of the raw directory listing, this can be done by navigating to the folder in question and then from the main menu select Directory > Copy directory to clipboard.

Then paste the clipboard content in your reply.

If you can also indicate the name/brand of FTP server software that would be a great help as well.

====================================

There is no FTP Server. I am using FlashFXP to upload files to a website via FTP. Once i use FlashFXP to get them to the server i then make them available for download. So the FTP software is built into the website.

Thank you,

Please try this beta update, I have adjusted the text parser to handle the directory listing correctly.

FlashFXP41_1718_Setup.exe

The directory list is not a standard UNIX: L8 format, it is missing the group column, however due to the naming of the file the parser incorrectly thought the first part was part of the date/time.

It works perfect now. Thank You.

So i guess this change gets rolled into the next minor release? I know you created a special version for me to download but does that mean whats downloadable from the website will include this fix or just at some point in the future?

Thanks again.

The link I provided you was for the latest beta release.

It is still in the process of being tested, once we determine that it is considered stable it will appear on the website for download by everyone, this could take another more or two.
