Thank you very much for your reply. I am using windows 7 64bit with sp1 installed.
I've just done a test with a folder containing 54 50mb files, selected delete and then did nothing with the pc. After 10 minutes flash fxp displays 'not responding' at the top of the window and if you close the window and navigate to the folder using windows explorer the entire content of the folder is there and nothing has been deleted.
** edit ** have gone back to an old backup of 3.6 (1240) and everything works as it should. You select delete, you get the confirmation window pop up and in less than a second the folder is gone - so it looks as if the error is in the latest build somewhere
** edit 2 ** have gone back to 4.1. (1664) and this bug exists in this buid too - However, I have just noticed that the confirmation window (i.e. the are you sure you want to delete this) isn't popping up even though the option is selected under general/confirmations. However, even if this option is unticked it still crashes if you try to delete a large folder
