Will not transfer

I am trying to transfer a PDF (50MB) from my local machine to our FTP site. If i queue it and manually transfer or if I transfer immediately, it will not send the file and say "transfer complete" or something similar. It is not in the skip list, using the 'queue as' command doesnt work, and the source file is not locked. As a workaround, i renamed the file with a different extension on my local machine, transferred it, and then renamed the file locally and remotely. Please advise.
