Folder tree auto expand and double click malfunction?

Not sure if this is trully a bug or I am misunderstanding the features, but I have the folder tree on top and file list bottom (vertical layout) and whatever I double click a folder in the tree it does change and expand the folder, despite the fact Folder Tree / auto expand folders is turned off or on, and also double click to change folder is turned off.

Specially, I am more concerned about the auto expand feature, I want to have it off, so when i double click a folder on the tree it gets changed, but NOT expanded, and i was not able to turn it off

I was using an old 5.3 or 5.4 version, so i decided to update, now i am running latest stable version but problem persist

You may want to give those two settings a try, again, maybe i am misunderstanding the feature, but not sure.
