CHMOD not working

When attempting a CHMOD on a Directory with subdirectories and files, using the settings:

Change attributes of: Folders
Apply changes recursively to sub-directories and files
Permissions: 777

If the Directory and subdirectories were 755, when the changes are applied you see the changes read:
set permissions 755 (the old setting)

Using Change Attributes of:
Files and Folders separately

works, but then I am changing the folders and the zillion files to their existing settings just to get the directories changed ...

Re: CHMOD not working

I have posted build 1569 via LiveUpdate, this update should resolve the issue.

Re: CHMOD not working

This does not work on CHMOD for Folders Only with recursive turned on.

It works on Files and Folders but then I have to CHMOD on the directories and 1000s of files, many of which I do not want to change the file permissions on.

Re: CHMOD not working

I did several tests with build 1569 and I was not able to reproduce the problem, can you please explain in more detail how you're opening the the attributes dialog, is it from the file list, folder tree, or file search right-click menu?

When you click OK what occurs? Can you please give me a small portion of the ftp status window text, this can be obtained by right-clicking on the status console and selecting copy to clipboard.

The issue that was fixed in build 1569 was that in some cases the file and/or folder attributes variable was corrupted resulting in unpredictable results, this appears to be fixed.

Re: CHMOD not working

Current directory permissions 755

Click right select Folder, select recursive

Enter 777

I see:
[R] SITE CHMOD 755 /public_html/v139_current/images/manufacturers
[R] 200 Permissions changed on /public_html/v139_current/images/manufacturers
[R] CWD /public_html/v139_current/images/manufacturers
[R] 250 OK. Current directory is /public_html/v139_current/images/manufacturers
[R] PWD
[R] 257 "/public_html/v139_current/images/manufacturers" is your current location
[R] SITE CHMOD 755 /public_html/v139_current/images/gift_certificates
[R] 200 Permissions changed on /public_html/v139_current/images/gift_certificates
[R] CWD /public_html/v139_current/images/gift_certificates
[R] 250 OK. Current directory is /public_html/v139_current/images/gift_certificates
[R] PWD
[R] 257 "/public_html/v139_current/images/gift_certificates" is your current location
[R] SITE CHMOD 755 /public_html/v139_current/images/gt_interactive
[R] 200 Permissions changed on /public_html/v139_current/images/gt_interactive

New information:
I did just discover if instead of entering 777 on the permissions, if I use the checkboxes, then it will work on Folders, recursive.

Re: CHMOD not working

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, it appears that if you set the mode directly via the input mode box the check boxes are updated but the result variable does not.

This is in part due to a flaw in the logic when only changing the attributes of folders.

A fix will be included in the next release.

This issue is quite obvious once I followed your steps.

Thanks again
