Recursive Deletion

I have not been able to figure out a pattern, but recursive deletion of directories is spotty in a selection. Lets say I select 10 folders to delete, it will always delete the files directly in the selected folders. However, it fails to sometimes delete files in subfolders which are part of the selected group of folders for deletion.

Here is a snippet of the log while FlashFXP is improperly recursively deleting one of the subfolders in the selection of folders to be deleted:

[L] CWD /ftp/projects/DVDPresentation3/Sample
[L] 250 CWD command successful.
[L] PWD
[L] 257 "/ftp/projects/DVDPresentation3/Sample" is current directory.
[L] PASV
[L] 227 Entering Passive Mode (HIDDEN)
[L] Opening data connection IP: HIDDEN PORT: 22263
[L] LIST -al
[L] Connected. Negotiating TLSv1 session
[L] 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for directory listing using SSL/TLS.
[L] TLSv1 negotiation successful...
[L] TLSv1 encrypted session using cipher DHE-DSS-AES256-SHA (256 bits)
[L] List Complete: 201 bytes in 1.88 seconds (0.1 KB/s)
[L] RMD /ftp/projects/DVDPresentation3/Sample
[L] 550 /ftp/projects/DVDPresentation3/Sample: Directory not empty.
[L] RMD /ftp/projects/DVDPresentation3
[L] 550 /ftp/projects/DVDPresentation3: Directory not empty.

Notice that it lists the contents of Sample, but it fails to then delete the file inside the Sample folder, and then inherently fails to remove the DVDPresentation3 directory.

Re: Recursive Deletion

I thought I should add, when I see the failed deletions and reselect and do a recursive deletion the second time around, it does properly delete all files.

Re: Recursive Deletion

I conducted several tests but was unsuccessful at reproducing the problem.

Can you please provide me with the following information:
  1. Were you deleting the folders via the folder tree or file listview?
  2. If from the file list, you had several folders selected correct?

Re: Recursive Deletion

1. I'm not using the Navigation Tree, just the regular file listview.
2. In further testing, even if I had one folder selected, and that folder had varying levels of subfolders, I would get the same problem. The folders contain hidden files, empty directories, as well as regular files. I'll keep you posted if I can find a better pattern.

Re: Recursive Deletion

I spent the better part of the day trying to reproduce this issue with no luck.

I'm really not sure what to make of it.
