Edited files do NOT Save

Hello.

Using 4.2.6 latest beta, when i open an ftp file for edit (with internal or external editor defined), it doesn't save the file. No activity is logged also (Send file).

This happened after the 2 latest updates.

Do you have FlashFXP configured to automatically upload, prompt, or legacy prompt on save?

What is the temp folder location shown in the About box > Details tab?
Is this temp folder location a fixed drive, removable drive, or network drive?

Hello.

The Temp is on a fixed (boot) drive :

Temp folder [Access: Read / Write]
C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\

and the method is "Upload". I have touched nothing. Just updated FlashFXP.

Also can you please verify that the temp folder where the file is downloaded to for editing is something like "d:\temp\~flashfxp\~fx60F508C4_edit.tmp\" and not "d:\temp\~flashfxp\~fx60F508C4_view.tmp\"

And I forgot to ask what Windows OS are you using?

I think the problem is related to the temp path using the short filename syntax.

I will need to investigate this more closely and I will get back to you.

It is Edit(whatever).tmp

I use Windows XP Pro Greek.

Please try this development build and let me know if it resolves the problem for you
ffxp4.2.6.1834.zip

Unzip the flashfxp.exe into your FlashFXP program folder overwriting the existing flashfxp.exe

If you changed something related in the past 2-3 updates, maybe. Because i didn't had that problem.

This seems to work just fine.

Thank you for confirming the fix.

The problem occurred because the code was comparing the short pathname against the long pathname and they didn't match.

There was a code change a few build ago to fix another bug that a user had reported, my attempt to fix their bug created this new one, and now we're back to square one.
