Crash on Vista on file transfer.

I am using windows Vista and FlashFXP. When i have connected (ftp) to a remote site and want to upload files by dragging files from the left local directory window to the right remote directory window FlashFXP randomly crashes. Maybe crashing is the wrong term. It closes immediately after dragging, without error message or bug report. Sometimes it also happens the other way round, so when downloading from remote to local. FlashFXP restart then is of no help.

Most of the time the following workaround helps me: If upload doesnt work and it crashes/closes i first download a file (just for the sake of not making flashFXP crash) and then i upload a file. It seems to work then.

I also found out, that it makes no difference if i have 1 FlashFXP instance open, or multiple connections to one or different servers.

I could reproduce this strange behaviour on other machines too and it makes downloading/uploading - the main purpose for me of FlashFXP - a real pain.

Hopefully there will be a fix for this.

what build of ffxp?

What regional version of Vista are you using? Are you using SP1?

Do you have Windows (UAC) User Account Control enabled?

Are you running FlashFXP from a administrative or limited access account?

Browse to your installed copy of FlashFXP and right click on the FlashFXP.exe and from the right-click menu select properties, make sure that none of the options on the Compatibility tab are checked, If FlashFXP is running in compatibility mode some actions will fail.

This type of behavior normally doesn't occur however under some configurations we've seen it happen and appears that Vista is denying the action and killing FlashFXP without warning.

We need more information in order to resolve this issue.

Using version 3.6.0 Build 1240

Tested on several machines with both UAC enabled and disabled using an administrative accoount always.

No compatibility options have been checked.

What regional version of Vista are you using? Are you using Vista SP1?

the crash happend both with and without sp1. im using the german regional version for windows vista (german/austria). hope that helps.

Same thing happend with me, same version as above and dk version of vista

Which local folder are you trying to transfer to/from?
