Unable to access a folder on an FTP site using FlashFXP version 4.1.3 (build 1658)

Hello,

While accessing a folder on a FTP site using FlashFXP 4.1.3 (build 1658) the following error is being prompted:

550 Failed to change directory.

All the other folders on the same FTP site can be accessed without this error. Initially it appeared to be related to permissions issue on the folder. However, that folder can be accssessed without this error using FlashFXP version 3.6.0(build 1240). It only appears to be an issue with 4.1.3 (build 1658).

Please advise. Thanks.

Re: Unable to access a folder on an FTP site using FlashFXP version 4.1.3 (build 1658)

I don't see a clear explanation in the status window as to why it is failing, it should work, would it be possible to include a copy of the session status from v3.6.

You might also try upgrading to FlashFXP 4.1.6 build 1673

Hi, I also tried to enable logging in FlashFXP but there is no additional information recorded in the logs. Only errors are recorded. We recently upgraded our all users to 4.1.3 (build 1658).

Here is session status from v 3.6:

No errors while getting into AKSO to COPNO folder.
Any thoughts?

Re: Unable to access a folder on an FTP site using FlashFXP version 4.1.3 (build 1658)

Thank you for the 3.6 session status for comparison, I was able to determine the exact cause of the problem. The problem arises from the fact that the folder name is "AKSO to COPNO ", there is a trailing space in the folder name.

So for example the following folder<space>, the parser is truncating the space and converting it into just folder which is why it fails.

If you have write permission to the ftp server the easiest solution would be to rename the folder using FlashFXP v3.6 and simply remove the trailing space from the folder name.

If this is not an option I can provide you with an updated copy of FlashFXP that properly supports trailing spaces, please use the contact us link and reference this bug report.

Re: Unable to access a folder on an FTP site using FlashFXP version 4.1.3 (build 1658)

Thanks for the advise. I believe the site administrator has fixed the issue by removing the space character in the folder name and the folder is now accessible from FlashFXP 4.1.
