ioGUI: Invalid Password?

It happens when I first run ioFTPD-Start.exe of the 7.5.9 version, my system is Win7 64bit. I haven't made any modifications to any files. But I did check the the installation guide for ioGUI, and I found all stuff is just set properly by default.

The error message is like this:

18:27:10 wSock_Connect()
18:27:10 220 FTP Server ready.
18:27:10 > USER ioFTPD
18:27:10 331 Password required for ioFTPD.
18:27:10 > PASS *****
18:27:10 530 Login failed: Invalid password.
18:27:25 421 Timeout (15 seconds): closing control connection.
18:27:26 wSock_Error() -> Connection is aborted due to timeout or other failure (10053)
18:27:26 ----------- connection closed -----------

2 reasons:

1) You don't have a valid root (/) path in etc/default.vfs.

2) Using 127.0.0.1 as the IP address? It's the only address allowed to connect to the server by default for the master account as a safety measure.

Check logs/error.log and it will show you the reason the login was rejected...

Thanks for your reply. Problem solved, it was the first reason. I have installed the server into another directory.

It is confusing for a new user, that the invalid password error happens when server side has an invalid vfs mapping.

I totally agree, it's a crime this wasn't changed earlier, but it was fixed in the upcoming release a long time ago but I've made some rather large changes and it's taking time to finish them all up...

keep on fighting! i really like ioftpd, it's stable and fast. much better than some servu crap...

and i really hope utf8 can be supported, cuz im working in a rather diverse language environment, asian languages are usually pain in the ass...
