Soory Bigstar, I orinally poste the following in the wrong area on this board. It now seems this belongs here. This post was from 2 days ago.. Peace;

Hi Bigstar. Nice job on the new beta. I was wondering, is it possible to show the actaul speed in fxp mode from server to server?.. I see that Staff FTP 2.0xx has this feature. Would be a nice feature in flash if it can be implemented.. Thanks again for writing kick ass software..!!!

I don't see how this is possible as the transfer doesn't pass through the software.

The only thing you can display is the estimated time left, this through the last few transfer times, by making the average..

Shark, I downloaded a program called Staff ftp because I was curious to see how it performed next to flash. Of course, Flash was the better program but indeed this software did show transfer speeds during fxping and when compared to the actaul transfer speeds, was accurate to the tee. I don't know how they did that but it again did work.. Peace

My guess is that he is just showing a progress bar based on the best guess estimate. FlashFXP could do this too, but its stupid, because its not EXACT.

I think they open a second thread with the FTP, they get the filesize and they poll that. (Like every second).

Most FTP's I have, have the possibility to log in twice. Maybe a feature in the options screen to enable this... If Size cannot be determined, because some FTP servers don't show files which are incomplete, then just close the 2nd thread.

This should be at least as accurate as just downloading a file.
