how to add another firewall/proxy type
 

my office uses ftp-user@ftp-host only, or sometimes called user with no logon.
Is there a way to add this to the list of firewall types, or possibly edit one of the existing?

I believe what you want is type #10 in the proxy config.

You were correct, I can know connect to remote sites with option 10.
except that I get no directories/files listed at the remote site!
in the log window I can see two lines after the LIST command:
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list.
226 transfer complete

There is nothing listed in the remote directory!
Figure that one out!

try using passive mode

Perhaps the files hidden? you may need to select 'show hidden files' from the Preferences / Advanced Tab
