FlashFXP behind a firewall doesn't work
Hi all,
* FlashFXP v[2 ].[1 ], build [924 ], [ ]registered, [ x]unregistered, [ ]pirated * OS [ ] WinXP, [ x] Win2K, [ ] Win98, [ ] WinME, [ ] Other * Running behind NAT/router [x ] Yes & Model [ ], [ ] No, [ ] Not sure * Running firewall [x ] Yes, Name [ ], Ver. [ ], or [ ] No * Running Antivirus [ McAffee 4.5.1 SP1] Yes, Name [ ] or [ ] No * Network [ ] xDSL, [ ] CABLE, [ ] Dail-Up, [ LAN ] Other additional info if related * FTP server(s) name [ unknown ], version [ ] I try to connect to ftp://oth:oth@goldmine.myftp.org:39675 using a http proxy, but it doesn't work. The proxy is: 203.121.0.12:80 I have to use a proxy because the firewall at work blocks all FTP ports but 21. My employer is a big company with about 30000 employees worldwide, so I guess that my client is behind a router and I am sure it is behind a firewall, but don't ask me models/types of hardware... I can connect through this proxy to any FTP server that uses port 21 (not blocked by firewall), like vr500003.onlinehome.de (see log). But when trying to connect to FTP servers that use other ports, it doesn't work (see log). I selected HTTP proxy in the preferences and entered address and port for the proxy. Am I missing something else?? Can you help me please? P.S.: The log doesn't tell that FlashFXP is using port 39675 when connecting to goldmine.myftp.org... Is it assuming port 21 maybe...? Connecting to port 21 works for me too. Connecting to other ports (e.g. 224, 18284) does not work. |
well, right now it apears that this proxy is down so i can not test connecting to any other sites:)
|
This proxy is up at the moment:
207.89.128.20:80 And please try both connections, to FTP servers with port 21 and servers with another port. Because in my case connecting to a server with port 21 works with the mentioned proxy and connecting to servers with ports other than 21 doesn't work. And in such cases you could think that the proxy is down... |

Maybe your domain is being blocked by the Proxy... Do you maybe know a proxy that allows you to connect to FTP servers with ports other than 21 so you can test? |
nope, sorry, don't have/use any proxies:(
maybe somebody else here can help you.. |
