2nd login for updating file list
Before I get flamed and stuff, I want to state from the start, that I know that my suggestion requires somehow multi-threading, but read it though:
What about enabling FlashFXP to login to the server a second time (permission provided), so that it can update the file list during a transfer...? This wouldn't _really_ require much work, as you don't have to create MDI childs and stuff, only a little thread that runs in the background... You don't have to control much, it'S always the same commands it has to send... Think about it. So long, Obeliks |
You mean like this?
Options \ Preferences \ Options \ Update Directory Cache During Transfer |
hm, first thx, didn't know this option existed :)
but second, this slows down the transfer... because between the files is has to do a list command, and if you haven'T got the best routing, this can take several seconds... So doing this with a seconds login could win precious time :) So long, Obeliks |
hmmm...
I just checked the option... but when I was transferring sumfin the directory content didn't get updated! What does this option do? |
when all files in the dir/ are downloaded, the cache will be updated, example (cause this was my idea :D )
You are downloading from a dir/ that has 2 files in it, but should be 10 (there still coming in) you queue this dir/ 10 times over, and start to download, now when the first queued dir/ is done, cache is updated, and you now see more uploaded files and flash starts to download the newer ones |
ok, now I get it... not very useful imho... then I'd better go for that one:
http://forum.flashfxp.com/showthread...&threadid=3094 But best would still with a second login, cause that doesn't slow down the transfer! |

Of course this can be solved with additional checkmark in Preferences/Site Manager/Quick Connect but IMHO it's good as it is right now. Just disable file caching, effect the same :) only takes a little longer and doesn't slow your transfer with bigger listings. Peace |
