Misses files on large uploads
When I am uploading a whole site (something that contains several directories, and possibly over 50 files), FlashFXP seems to miss several files near the end (in this case only two).
Here's the log: Code:
[17:33:38] 550 xxxx.php: No such file or directory Windows 98SE FlashFXP v2.0 b 909 (yes I know, old build, but the newer builds give me GPF's :( ) |
It looks like FlashFXP messed up, unfortunately not enough of the status log is provided to determine the cause of the problem. It may of been fixed in later builds but without a more complete status log it's hard to say what went wrong or why.
|
OK, I'll post another log (the complete log) the next time this happens.
|
Rrrgh, it happened again. It almost always seems to happen to images.
Code:
[19:39:22] PWD |
Here's the rest of the log I wasn't able to post in the previous reply because it was too long.
Code:
[19:39:50] PORT xxx,xxx,x,xxx,x,xxx |
Interesting:
This only seems to happen when uploading to a UNIX Type: L8 server. I cannot seem to duplicate this problem when uploading to a server running NETWARE Type : L8. |
I'm not entirely sure why this is happening, I've made a few changes in hopes that it resolves the problem.
http://www.flashfxp.ws/zip/ffxptest.zip Please let me know if you encounter any problems with this build, including GPF's |
I'm sorry, I generally don't like to download BETAs or test copies of applications (although 909 was an exception because of that really annoying local browser resizing glitch in 906). Often, it's just asking for trouble (no offense, of course ;))
However, I will download and install this on a seperate bootable partition I have specifically for tests such as this. I'll let you know if it helps. BTW, is there a set date as to when FlashFXP v2.1 (or whatever the next version number is) will be released? |
well I was going to release v2.1 just as soon as I finish getting the help file updated but now I'm going to hold off until I make sure this problem you're having has been resolved. I haven't been able to reproduce it on any of my ftp servers. The fact that you can constantly reproduce it bothers me.
This test build is considered stable, the changes I made shouldn't cause any new problems. However there may be bugs that the beta testers have missed. |
OK, I've run the test FlashFXP build you gave me, and here are the results:
Uploading a large site (257 files in 38 directories) to a UNIX Type L8 server: Missed two files (log 1) (Log 2) (log is split into two parts -- the two files that were missed were too far apart to be in one log by double clicking the status window) Uploading a large site (257 files in 38 directories) to a NETWARE Type L8 server: Missed one file (log 1) |
Darn.. that's very disapointing... Do any of these sites allow passive mode? just curious if passive mode is more reliable.
I'll get back to you, perhaps with a debug version or something     |
The UNIX server allows PASV, the Netware server does not.
I generally don't use PASV mode. |
For some reason the SIZE command (which is issued hidden to the user) isn't getting it's reply, instead the reply comes back as PORT is being sent.
I replaced the procedure used for sending SIZE with the same procedure that all the other commands use to send commands to the server, this method is more robust. Hopefully by doing that it resolves this issue. http://www.flashfxp.ws/zip/ffxptest2.zip |
Thanks bigstar. I'll try this test build as soon as I have time, and let you know the results. (Probably no time till Thursday, May 1 :()
|
I think I figured it out: "Send noops during transfer" should not be checked (in my situation, anyway). I'll post again later to confirm or disprove this statement.
