Question concerning .ioFTPD file and public server access
hi, finally io is at least running locally. dont have it working public so far. not figured the problem out yet. guess is the host.rules making the problem. but i dunno what to change for getting external users connecting to its.myftp.biz. currently the host.rules contains minimum information

but main thing: where to set that OnFileUploaded not .ioFTPD file shall be created. i searched all possible .ini files but havent found a setting for this. i dont need this file and want clean dir. can u help? question besides: is SSL meanwhile a free feature or do there exist free and commercial versions of io yet? greetings, mantonio |
you wont get a "clean" dir, .ioftpd files are created for 1 reason, to store the current directories attributes in, filenames, crc, user, group, etc. ioftpd is useless without those files, so dont try and delete them, they are there for a reason.

already done in thread opening post.
i dont get io working using any other data than the default ioFTPD... equal what i try, i cant connect with different data. i changed the sites.ini to use an alternative site with alternative username and userpw. then i changed services in ioFTPD.ini to use "devicename" and "description" as set in sites.ini for "name". ur online documentation is aboslutely not helpful to set up alternative data than default. please explain in what files to change what for making a dyn.dns ip accesable and in what file to change what for being able to login to localhost using individual username and pw and finally have an individual "file owner" instead of #ioFTPD. mantonio |
