ioDistDB on SourceForge

Started a new sourceforge project for io scripts.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ioftpd-scripts/

For now, the project will probably focus on developing a distributed user/group module for io.

Anyone is free to browse the cvs (you can use the web interface here ) to see what's going on and stuff. No file release is expected for some time; still in planning phase.

Any developper interrested in participating in development ?
If no active developer is found, this project will NOT result in anything that a end-user can use; meaning that I won't make all of it myself.

Later on, others scripts/projects should be added to that sourceforge project.
Anyone interrested in starting / making his io script project open-source on sf simply has to contact me to be added as a developper on the project.

Nice to see you're taking on this project. If there's something what's really needed right now, it would be the shared userdb (and might I add, a fully functional one).

Still waiting to try out the ioShareDB v1.0.0, if only it was rlsed..

I can provide neccessary code from ioftpd's sources for socket operations. (ie ssl.) Also, I suggest using persistent connections over short-lived connections.

Now, if someone throws enough dimes in, I could start working on making ioftpd distributed ftpd; drftpd like... maybe even compatible ;p (directory cache & fibers makes such possible, without losing performance/scalability)

How many dimes are we talking about? Guess there are alot of ppl out there interrested in this project...
Perhaps you could team up with mounton for this project of his? Dunno for sure, but as from what I see, he's kind of lonely coding it?!

Not really sure how much would be appropriate to ask. I'd expect writing it to take anything between 1-4weeks (of 8-10hour workdays) I'll try to do some estimate of how long it takes, after I've finished http php implementation.
